Entry Description: Eight bridges span the river Rhine in Cologne, as much as in no other town on Germany’s longest river.

Joern Sackermann starts to take pictures at the age of 15. Already before finishing school he was assistant of various photographers and had first publications in books and photo magazines. After a traineeship at the German agency Bilderberg in 1988 he started his first longer photo journey to Southeast Asia. Assignments for several publishing houses (14 book publications exclusive with his images, at countless further books he has participated) followed, as well as work for and/or publications in magazines as stern, Merian, Bild der Wisschenschaft, natur+kosmos, TIME, Newsweek, Spiegel a.o.. The emphasis of his photography spans today from journalism, PR/company communication, travel to nature. Joern Sackermann made his home in Cologne, Germany.
