Entry Description: Study of ice and rock, with a number of images taken from a number of glaciers in the swiss Alps (Aletsch glacier and Zinal glacier). A series of images depicting the brutal battle between the ice and the rock, the contrast between these two elements and the graphic qualities of that edge where ice stops and rock starts.

Rafael Rojas was born in Spain 35 years ago. After a career as an engineer and researcher-lecturer at the university, he made a dramatic change by becoming a professional photographer of nature and landscape, his true passion and vocation from a very tender age. Today, he travels the planet with the tripod on his shoulder, always in search of those fleeting moments when light and land combine to create sheer magic and inspire the soul. His work has been awarded in the most prestigious international nature photography competitions, like the International Photography Awards IPA, Trierenberg Super Circuit, GDT European Photographer of the Year, Nature’s Best Windland Rice Photography Awards, International Conservation Photography Awards, MML International Nature and Mountain Awards, Panoramic Photographer of the Year, etc. His images, which are part of numerous private collections from individuals and corporations, are often exposed at international level, in private galleries and musems like the Smithsonian in Washington or the Burke Museum in Seattle, USA.
