About the Artist:

Born in Croatia, 1961. Photography became my main preoccupation in my late forties after a break of 18 years. Although I was almost expelled from high school because of spending too many hours in the darkroom, my dreams of studying photography were dashed because of very small quotas in my country. My career path changed dramatically after I opted for economics and information technology instead and received Ph.D. from the University of Split in Croatia where I became professor. My life turned a full circle in 2006 when I accepted an invitation to a trekking expedition in the region of Mount Everest, and this brought me back to mountains and photography. I live in Split, an ancient city on the Adriatic coast in Croatia with my wife and two daughters. http://www.nenadsaljic.com/
