| About the Artist: Believe that I was born with a pencil in my hand. Sadly, I did not fully appreciate my gift until it was lost. On March 16th 2003, I sustained multiple complex injuries during a motorcycle race. Lost the use of my right hand for a time and now I live with constant pain.
These days, when even holding a pencil can be a challenge, I find that photography allows me greater creative access with fewer physical constraints.
My Pentax K7 has been modified for full-spectrum photography. Capturing the ultraviolet, visible and near-infrared spectrum is made possible by selective use of various wavelength filters. Non-visible light penetrates and reflects in unexpected ways, revealing mystery in
even the most common places. I find this inner illumination compelling. The camera is my key to a parallel world, a full-spectrum world alive and calling to be explored. |
