Entry Description: These images are from a recipe photo project called The Forest Feast (ww.theforestfeast.com), a series I started after moving from New York City to a cabin in the woods. Inspired by local, seasonal ingredients, I create "photographic recipe illustrations" that visually explain the steps to make each dish. I am in the process of turning this series into a cookbook.

Erin Gleeson is a photographer and artist specializing in food and still life. She shoots for various publications including magazines, newspapers, and cookbooks and often collaborates with chefs and restaurants. Her recent exhibitions include a group show at the Powerhouse Arena in Brooklyn presented by the New York Photo Festival (2012) and a solo show at the French Culinary Institute in New York (2012). Erin is passionate about teaching and was an adjunct professor of photography at the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York from 2008 to 2011 specializing in digital photography and Photoshop. She cuurently teaches at The Art Institute of Silicon Valley (CA). She has a weekly food photography column on the food website Umami Mart (umamimart.com) and her most recent personal project is The Forest Feast, a recipe blog full of photography and illustration that she is in the process of turning into a cookbook (www.theforestfeast.com).
