|About the Artist:
Haydee Yordan was born in Puerto Rico, studied Art at University of Puerto Rico, MA at Center for Advanced Studies for Puerto Rico and the Caribbean, lived and studied in Italy and England. Studied photography at New York University, and Puerto Rico Art League; she has also attended several photography workshops. Her work consists mainly of abstract images of nature where the sea and the sand have been present as witnesses of her Caribbean culture. Her latest work seems to take off to the universe. Haydee has exhibited twice at VII and VIII International Biennale of Photography, Vermont Photo Space Gallery, Pamil Fine Art Gallery in Puerto Rico and also in Florida and California. Haydee has published twice in Black and White/Color Magazine, Latin American Art Magazine, and National Geographic Traveller magazine. Haydee’s artwork has received excellent newspaper reviews as well as several awards including the prestigious 4th Pollock's Award - Photographer of the Year (non Professional, Abstract Category) and in 2012 she was awarded IPA's Second Prize Winner in Aerial Photography.
