2014 Deeper Perspective Photographer of the year

K. M. Asad, Bangladesh Born 1983.  
A freelance documentary photographer based in Bangladesh. I am lucky enough to get such parents who were not at all conscious about making their elder son a doctor or an engineer which lead me towards being a photographer. My thing is being opposite to cliché made me way to Pathshala. I was done photography graduation from Pathshala(The South Asian Media Academy) in 2008, along with my academic graduation. That degree in photography made my dream goal away lot clear.
I am always loved to think out of the box, want to go beyond my boundaries. As I born and brought up in old town, so I got the ability to easily mix up in local people. This makes me more conscious about the people, society as well as my own country. In 2007, when the cyclone (SIDR) scattered Bangladesh, I went to remote places to capture the dying condition of local people. Against those photos hundreds of people got reliefs who were in need of foods and other staffs, funds. The matter made me realize that my photo can make life better of others. And till today I am working on for the people of my community, country.
From last 6years, consecutively some of my work have taken for permanent collection in the Kiyosato Museum of Photographic Arts (KMOPA) in JAPAN, some got selected for Delhi photo festival in India, also published in LA Times, New Internationalist, Art and Witness-INDIA, Guardian-UK, Discovery magazine etc.
