2016 Moving Image Photographer of the Year
I am currently a 2nd year Photography student at Falmouth University.
Since I was little, I had always been interested in surrealism but as I grew older, mixing surrealism and dark topics, whilst trying to keep the photograph or moving image as aesthetically pleasing as possible, became the main focus point for my work.
I first became interested in moving image during my first year of University when I shot a series of moving images based around mental illness.
I tend to use myself in my own work as I’m usually trying to portray my own thoughts and feelings. It’s wonderful to be able to be as loud as I want through photography without actually having to say a word, which is part of why I find photography so important. It gives a voice to those who-like myself- perhaps wouldn’t usually be heard.
