This body of work is an allegory of my emotions, feelings, dreams, and nightmares rooted in the consequences of social, cultural, and ecological conditions. It is also inspired by the efforts of women worldwide who are defending their basic, undeniable rights.

Story

The Silence of Anxiety

From the time I became aware of my place in the world as a woman and the cultural differences between men and women, I have been deeply concerned about the global violations of women’s rights. As an artist, I am called to photograph images that embody this concern about the abuses against women that affect millions of females worldwide.
As I researched this problem, I began a series of self-portraits showing myself as one of these women. The result is the portfolio, The Silence of Anxiety.
This body of work is an allegory of my emotions, feelings, dreams, and nightmares rooted in the consequences of social, cultural, and ecological conditions. It is also inspired by the efforts of women worldwide who are defending their basic, undeniable rights.

"...women themselves have the right to live in dignity, in freedom from want and freedom from fear."
