|About the Artist:
I was born in Wabrzezno, little town in Poland in 1986. When I was nineteen I decided to leave my family home and come to the UK. The plan was to stay for couple months, save some money to come back and continue studies in Poland.
This year it has been 10 years since I have left my home country.
I have graduated from Graphic Arts, Photography at Winchester School of Art, University of Southampton in 2011.
Every aspect of human’s life and nature fascinates me – their lives, problems, sorrows, little moments of happiness.
My body of work is a form of meditation. I believe that my photographs have grounds in philosophy, psychology, sociology and social science. Through the language of photography I try to find answers to questions that I have been asking myself since I was little.
For most of my personal projects I tend to choose medium format cameras using reversal film.
Taking a critical view of the social and cultural issues facing Polish nationals who choose to leave their homeland and make a new life in the UK, my work examines complex notions of identity and belonging for economic migrants in a globalised economy.
