Entry Description

This is a 24-metre-high, dark and unheated cell created by architect Daniel Libeskind. Named Holocaust Tower, it is described as the 'Voided Void' by Libeskind in his acclaimed Jewish Museum in Berlin. The tiny thin gap upon the ceiling allows only a small amount of natural light and very limited sound to come in, providing visitors a sense of moment that being 'taken away' from existing. I spent some time alone here – sitting, watching and attempting to capture this exaggerated sense of isolation in an speechless silence.
