On the 20th March 2015 thousands of “eclipse enthusiasts” had gathered in the Faroe Islands, to witness the total eclipse of the sun. The Faroe Islands are a small group of islands situated north of 200 miles NW of Scotland and west of Denmark, and they were one of only two places on land in the world, where the total eclipse could be witnessed. The population of the islands was swelled many fold by visitors from all over the world hoping to see the eclipse. Watching the onlookers wearing their purpose designed “eclipse glasses” was as fascinating to me as witnessing the total eclipse itself.
