The image I am submitting for this competition is a archival inkjet print of a photomontage. It was computer assembled from hundreds of photographs using a rigorous selection process. Formal composition was integral in the image creation. My montage blurs the boundaries separating photography and painting. Like visionary postcard sent from 20th century America, its narrative is fueled by thoughts and visuals gleaned from, television and film entertainment, Madison Avenue, and nostalgia. I am freely playing with America’s embellished past as I present a scene of everyday life where reality and fantasy coexist.
