While on a recent trip to the Island of Itaparica Brazil I had the unique opportunity to meet some of the families who inhabit the island. The people were very warm, friendly and open. They welcomed me into their homes to photograph. The children were very open and friendly and enjoyed the attention. It was truly a lesson in humanity and humility, being in a foreign country not able to speak their language to be welcomed into their homes to photograph but to be so welcomed into their lives as well.
