Friends Ali Mairin and Lesly Sarai pose for a portrait at a soccer field in Rosarito, Mexico. Rosarito is located a few miles south of Tijuana, the busiest border crossing in the United States. There are many social issues in Tijuana but poverty and lack of opportunity are two main reasons why many kids end up caught up with narco-traffickers and smuggling organizations. Lesly’s mom has a little store next to the soccer field and feels the soccer field is a safe place for her daughter to play.
