Patagonia is known for its ferocious wind, so I was hoping to bring home an image that reflected these conditions. Weather near the mountain was obscured by clouds and winds making shooting impossible, so I headed away from the mountain range and was able to capture a clearing in the snow and wind clouds as sun struck the high peaks of Fitz Roy. High winds and blowing dust required me to lie prone, my body pressed against the camera/lens/tripod to help lesson vibration, while using the lens stabilization. Swim goggles were worn so I could see the Live View screen for critical focus and avoid tearing and debris in my eyes.
