Edward L. Rubin’s photography book VERMONT: AN OUTSIDER’S INSIDE VIEW captures the character and spirit of the people who inhabit Vermont accompanied by beautiful images of the landscape and places that reveal life in “The Green Mountain State.” Rubin’s insightful portraits include everyone from the Governor to goat farmers, artists, mechanics, waitresses, a supreme court justice, and activists. This comprehensive photo essay shows that there are still places in America where people know each other deeply, help each other freely, and are bound to each other in heart, mind, and community. All photos were taken by Mr. Rubin over a four-year period; he also wrote the text, which describes the people and places with verve and brio. VERMONT: AN OUTSIDER’S INSIDE VIEW, printed and bound in Verona, Italy, is indeed a true labor of love and a love letter to the state.
