This is the central library of University Pompeu Fabra since 1999. Such an astonishing building provides students in Barcelona, regardless of whether they study at University Pompeu Fabra or not, with the opportunity to study in a quiet and beautiful environment crammed with history. The building, first conceived as the water tower for Ciutadella Park, was designed in 1874 by Josep Fontserè. Antoni Gaudi himself had a take on the design as a student of architecture. Its traditional structure combines with the modern technique used in its construction and the renovations carried out in 1993.
