The construction of the "Dipòsit de les Aigües" started in 1880 with the function of watering the gardens of “Ciutadella” Park in Barcelona, and regulate the flow of water of its waterfall. The construction it is similar to a Roman prototype, formed by a labyrinth of parallel arches of 14 meters high, and 65 meters depth, crossing in a round barrel and extending as a mirror effect along all its length. The rehabilitation works of "Dipòsit de les Aigües", which joins through an underpass with another building, began in 1993. In1999 started to operate as the General Library of the University Pompeu Fabra. The surface of the plot is 4,558 m2, with an occupied area of 4,320 m2 and 14,850 m2 surface restored. The architects of this fabulous rehabilitation are Lluís Clotet and Ignacio Paricio.
