The photograph was sjot during my annual expedition to mid Russia within my photojournalistic investigation of life of people and the habitat by the river of Hoper. The portrait was taken as we stopped for petrol at city of Arkadak. Grandmother Zina here is at visiting the grave of her daughter, who died many years ago at the age of around 40. Zina all her life lives at Arkadak and worked just at one hen farm. Now a pesionner and find joy and assiatnce in life from her son and another daughter. At the cementary Zina remembers her life and spends time. Her pain now softer, still there. When we said goodbye she blessed me with words of lots of love and well wishes and welcomed to come back and pay a vitis next summer. Hoping to see Arkadak summer 2016 very much.
