The Iñupiaq Native of northern Alaska have been hunting bowhead whales for hundreds of years. It is a subsistance hunt. No part of the whale is sold, just shared. During Summer, a big feast is held outdoors in town and whale meat is shared and served. They start with prayers, go on with dancing and toss the blanket. The youth go on until late at night.
