Image and text across the globe have constructed ways of seeing. Belief systems in the West, especially in fashion consist of : moments of trend, circulation and always looking for the next best thing. The self has been completely altered. Who we think we are and who we have been told to be are one of the same. Consumerism feelings are fictitious and fleeting thus adding into our capitalist society - one that we can never truly escape. Fashion is a perfect outlet to explore these themes. Within "Disruptions" I have re contextualized the fashion image completely. Throwing off the viewer from once an consumerist image to something with multiple punchlines and dimensions, meaning and aesthetics.
