Born in Chambery in the Savoie region of France, Thibaut Ketterer's passion for photography began in 2007 during his many travels (Sweden, USA, Ireland). He continued this passion while accompanying his friend's punk rock bands from France, ``The Nichiel's`` and ``The Traders`` as they made their way 45,000 kilometers across Europe (Russia, Ukraine, Moldova, and Latvia). Having graduated with a DEC in photography from the Cegep de Matane (Québec, Canada) in May of 2015, and found his greatest interest in documentary and artistic photography. This can be observed in his exhibitions ``Québec Hunting`` and ``Exodus 138``. The experience of working on these projects marked his unconscious and his way of working, Prefering the humanism, proximity and contacts with his subjects while entering their universe is what he believes is the key to the best photographic documentary. His work can be found in different collective exhibitions and publications in Canada and in France. His first solo-exhibition ``Exodus 138`` is a photographic essay which is currently at the Espace F art center in Matane.
Exodus 138
Extracted from a documentary still in progress, «Exodus 138» is a series of photos both taken indoor and outdoor as well as potrait work. I started from the premise that ones everyday surroundings can become so commonplace that one must stop to truly notice them. To me, objects are revealing as to the personality of their owner. We travelled along the Road 138 to better soak up the region of the North Shore of Québec between Baie-Comeau and Kegaska. For this series I approached total strangers and had the experience of them opening their doors and lives to me. It was a personal challenge encountering the unknown.
Note
The legends of this photographic series are important because they come from transcripts of interviews and information collected during this documentary. These are available in the IPTC Core (via software, bridge).
