Susie Yazzie was known as the Matriarch of Monument Valley and a legendary rug weaver. She stands outside of her childhood hogan on the Navajo Reservation along the Arizona/Utah border where she has lived her entire 90 plus years. She was an inspiration to all who knew her and was loved by many generations in her extensive Navajo family.
