Japan is facing a huge problem concerning the nation's workforce, due to the aging and decline of the working-age population. It is the country with the world's longest life expectancy, being 83 years old, and one of the lowest birthrates. This makes that the retirement age has gone from 55 in the early 80's to 65 now, but studies done by the UN found that in the future this needs to be raised further to the age of 77 to maintain the current number of working people. In my ongoing series '+65', I'm focussing on how visible the aging problem is in daily life and on the streets of Tokyo.
