In my series '-40°C', I'm focusing on how the rise of the mining industry and the upcoming of modern technologies are changing the lifestyle of Mongolian nomads. I'm documenting these specific group of people as I had to see with my own eyes how these changes affect the nomads’ lives before their culture disappeared. I had the pleasure to meet a group of powerful people, full of passion and love for their nomadic traditions. A group that chooses to let life revolve around their beloved animals, moving in function of the grazing space and the safeguarding from extreme temperatures. I’ve seen that strength, reflected in the nomads’ eyes. It encourages them to hold on to their nomadic lifestyle with love, and it fuelled me to keep documenting this one-of-a-kind group of people.
