A brief moment of distraction from her daily routine, as she stares out to watch a bird flutter down right next to her. My grandmother was a force to be reckoned with, living fearlessly and answerable to no one. Towards the end of her life she was starting to become a shell, the traits that made her who she was slowly losing its tenacity and vigor. This is one of my favourite pictures of my grandmother who was the woman who taught me how to be fearless and how to live on my own terms.
