The photograph is part of my project for Fuelbanks and Families, a South London charity, offering support and solutions to families struggling with poverty. The organisation helps fight the under-discussed battle against fuel poverty. They offer solutions through relief, advice and grants. Relief from spiralling debt and credit on prepaid meters enabling families to cook and heat their homes. They have a dedicated debt management support and advice team. And grants for children’s educational necessities, such as school uniform, shoes and winter coats. This photograph took root around the theme of hands, reflecting how the charity offers a helping hand enabling families to pull themselves out of poverty by taking care of spiralling energy bills. Allowing families to stand strong and provide for their children.
