This image is of an elderly volunteer at Cambridge University, participating in an Electroencephalography (EEG) experiment to examine her brain function when asked to observe images on a screen. EEG has been employed clinically as a measure of brain function in the elderly in the hope of determining and differentiating certain functional conditions of the brain that might lead to a better understanding of Alzheimer’s disease and Dementia.
