Cormorants slumber under a canopy of stars, like ornaments decorating a tree. A near full moon illuminates the willow tree & background mountains nicely from the side. I'm normally a fan of doing star trails with a single exposure, but due to the light breeze on the lake surface and concern that the leaves would blur, as well as the concern that the birds would soon awaken and fly off, I opted to take short 13 second exposures. This final image is 56 photos stacked together, producing stars rotating over ~12minutes.
