Joe Medicine Crow was the last war chief of the Crow Tribe of Montana, an honor that he had earned for his accomplishments during World War II. I admired him; he had a calm and patient demeanor that made an impact on you. I loved the way that he could tell stories. The Crow Indians have a rich history of oral storytelling. Mr. Medicine Crow died this spring; he was 102 years old.
