Their parents begged and borrowed thousands of dollars to send them to the other end of Africa on a false promise. Only to find themselves stranded in Limpopo Province, South Africa, with little money or hope - another symptom of the sickness of African football. These young Ghanaian footballers flew thousands of miles south of Accra, arrived in South Africa thinking they were on their way to the moneyed Premier League grounds of England. But they were not and the agent who promised them this has disappeared along with their parents' money. The South African coach they've been dumped on is trying to find their parents back in Ghana in a bid to send them home. This is the ugly side of the beautiful game in Africa where youth are being misled through a murky world.
