Sumo is an antique art very famous and popular in Japan performed for many centuries. Usually tournaments in Japan take place in Tokyo, Osaka, Fukuoka and Nagoya but this picture was taken during a rare event in Kyoto. Tradition is very strong for Sumo competition and players are used to performing many ritual and dances between the matches.
