A series of deadly underground explosions in the southern Taiwanese city of Kaohsiung in August 1, 2014 has killed 32 people and injured 321 others. The blasts rocked the city's Cianjhen district, scattering cars and blowing deep trenches in roads. The Ministry of National Defense said it has deployed more than 1,600 military personnel to assist in the rescue operations.
