How many generations have walked the beach at Mellon Udrigle? The ancient hut circle, dated to prehistoric times, which lies adjacent to the contemporary caravan site, indicate centuries of human settlement. The shapes and patterns presented here represent human form, the lines and curves suggestive of muscle and sinew. Each was a temporary, ghostly presence. Created by small streams in the sand as the tide receded, they were washed away by the next incoming tidal. They are intended to represent the transience and fragility of life in this place and on this planet. The images were made in the course of two short visits to the beach, In November 2015 and in March of this year.
