The Cham Muslims constitute an ethnic group from the South of Asia descending from the former Kingdom of Champa; dating from 875 AD and with a historically strong Hindu influence. They are free to marry out of love or with the help of a matchmaker. Throughout the ceremony both the groom and the bride will present their respects to each other's parents and families; and Muslim prayers will be held to bless the marriage.
