Fan Hold – a rare inside look at one of the cooling tower fans used to cool the hot water used in the production of steam for power generation at a typical U.S. coal-fired electric plant; Lime Wash – the exterior of the flue-gas desulfurization building, where lime is used to extract polluting sulfur from the exhaust gases before they go up the smokestack and into the atmosphere; Walking the Coals – testing sample quality on the huge coal pile that is funneled to an underground conveyor and then crushed for burning in the 8-story boiler to generate steam for electricity; Climate Change – steam from the cooling towers helping to reduce water temperature and recirculate back into the power plant for the production of high pressure steam to turn power-producing turbines; Breaker – grinder balls used in the ball mill to reduce coal to a fine material prior to blowing into the boiler furnace.
