“Waterfront Sonatas“ is a series of photographs that show symbolic modern buildings at the waterfront in North Germany. Each image tries to tell a hidden story that might not only be related to the building itself, but also to the way lines, shadows and light are composed. Having chosen the term Sonata has a direct connection to a music melody of a single instrument, being the instruments the buildings at the waterfront themselves. In an extended meaning, the sonata tells not only a story but should invite the viewer to reflect about himself due to the connection he finds to the images.
