In June 2014 the jihadists of the Islamic State invaded west provinces of Iraq; the ongoing war is still extremely intense: on the side of Coalition forces - led by US Army with the support of countries such as the UK, Canada, France, Italy, Germany - there are the Iraqi Army and Peshmerga fighters, the soldiers of the semi-autonomous Kurdish region in northern Iraq. As always, civilians are paying the highest toll and suffering the most brutal consequences of the conflict.
