Having 163 churches, and only short of 50.000 inhabitants to attend them, the Faroe Islands comes off as religious place. The few faroese priests have several churches in their parish, some in towns housing no more than 5 or 10 people. In such small societies, religion is widely practiced, and the preachers role is crucial to the community. I met each priest in a church of their choosing, and photographed them at the porch using the light of the entry.
