South Sudan is at civil war. Hundreds of thousands of people have fled their homes. In rebel-held Akobo, transport routes are blocked so food and medicine are scarce. Buk Gai is a mother of two 18-month-old twins. Both of her sons are suffering from malnutrition. She has walked for hours to reach a rural health clinic in Dengjok, where her children are given a health check and she is provided nutritional food for them. Then, first strapping one son to her front before the other to her back, she turns and starts the long walk back home. A mother's devotion will see her babies survive another week.
