Focus of this project is the special architecture and culture of 1920’s social housing („Gemeindebau“) in Vienna-Austria, built as a reaction to the dramatic social situation after World War I. A reduced objective position was taken to put focus on the special architecture and presence of the buildings. Lack of people and the winter setting further support the visual neutrality and the details of the large format photographs. While from a macro perspective the architecture is in focus, traces of the people living in the buildings can be found from a micro perspective.
