When women aren't able to speak out about abuse, they carry that burden throughout their lives.

Story

This series is for all the women that have lived their lives not able to speak out against their abusers for fear of retribution, fear of judgment, and lack of support. Too often society sees women who live every day in a life of cruel words, physical and mental attacks, and suppression because they feel that there is no help for them. While I use the word ‘women’ I want to encompass all ages; children, teens, adults, and seniors. Each should have the right to speak out against abuse, each should have the unconditional support of their family, friends, and community without the fear of being laughed at, brushed off, or ignored.
This series is to show that the burden of mental and physical abuse is not something that goes away over time. It does not fade away but instead creates a pattern of submission and resignation that imbeds itself in the mind of its victim, following them throughout their lives, constantly nagging and picking at their self worth and allowing every abuser the chance to break them down.
