The images in my BROKEN series are of cracked plates, shattered heirlooms that have been passed down through my family. These flawed objects are about memory and forgetting, domestic ritual and creative freedom, privilege and loss, beauty and violence, I have inherited many things from my forbearers - both literal and metaphorical. Most of them I treasure. Some seem to take on an even greater complexity, and more compelling significance when broken. They have been exhibited at Dina Mitrani Gallery in Miami and at Miami Project Art Fair.
