My work illustrates transitioning identities of people and communities through photographic portraiture. I investigate memory, place, and time by returning to past family photo albums in search of clues to the foundations of self or community identity. Vernacular photographs are digitally collaged with Google Earth image captures of the same location seen in the vernacular image; bringing forth the past to insure its existence for the future.
