In East Greenland there is a starkness and symmetry of the landscape and the ever-present sense of geological history. There is a wonderful sense of isolation; with access to sea blocked for much of the year. Today however, the northward intrusion of warmer waters and changing sea ice are altering the prime locations of many marine species and affecting the seasonal fishing and hunting activities of seals, polar bears and the local Inuit communities as well as the climate for the rest of the Earth.
