Foto Marvellini is the name of an art project started in 2012 by two Italian artists, friends since thirty years, who imagine themselves like heirs of a mysterious ancient family of photographers based in Milan. It’s a tribute to the photography that forces the spectator to be aware of what he is watching, of how he watches it, and how the images in general, by their nature, give a shape to his emotions and to his comprehension of the world. To realize the project, Foto Marvellini blends different elements as the refined culture and the Pop one, the uncanny visions with the romantic scenes. The work “Susanna Riccardi” is a digital collage from an antique original photo with insertion of new elements taken in photo studio by Marvellini Bors with multiple exposure on a contemporary model. The file generated is printed in darkroom on baryta-coated paper with silver salts, treated with tannic acid.
