Entry Description

Drapetsona, Piraeus, Greece By the time you get inside, every corner of this place is aesthetically pleasing to your eyes just like an architectural structure so I wanted to share the unusual aspect of the beauty I found in this Factory since those images might be the last ever captured. The Fertilizer Factory of Drapetsona was an industrial unit of a SA Greek company which construction was completed on October of 1910. From its starting point was dominating the economic life of Piraeus while on World War II suffered from great damages. In 1993 the company went into the process of refinement and the Factory's ownership passed to the government and stopped it's operation completely in 1999. Today the Factory is facing the complete abandonment and it was recently announced by the government that it will be demolished. In the future this deserted area will be reconstructed in order to provide space for citizens leisure.
