I am currently exploring the concept of fatherless-ness as I haven't seen my father in 5 1/2 years. After discovering items that my father left in my mother's house when he moved out following the breakdown of their marriage, I decided to photograph them. One of these items was a bread maker that he asked for for a birthday one year yet he wasn't attached to it enough to come back to collect it. The tablecloth is a personal family item and the cutlery was given to my parents as an anniversary present one year. By combining these 3 things together to make a false evening meal setup, I found that I created a strange description of my father, someone who I feel that I no longer know yet have an almost clinical relationship to due to our biological connection.
