We were visiting a mountain village in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic. A boy gave me one red flower and put it over my right ear. I wasn’t sure what to pay him back because the tour guide advised us not to offer money to the local kids. Then I gave him a half box tomato chips I had left which cost six US dollars in Punta Cana. I was attracted to his flowers so I followed him a bit and took this photo: he was staring at another jeep and seemed hoping for other tourists would provide him with something in exchange for his flowers – I was dearly touched.
